BOKUTracks (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the BOKUTracks mobile application (the “App”), available exclusively on the Apple App Store. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Overview
BOKUTracks is a free application.
- No user accounts are required
- No subscriptions or payments are offered
- No personal identity information is required to use the App
The App displays GPS tracking data sourced from Garmin public share websites and may optionally display the user’s current location on the map.
2. Information Handled by the App
2.1 User Location (Optional)
If you grant permission, the App may access your device’s location in order to:
- Display your current position on the App’s map
- Provide spatial context relative to Garmin tracking data
User location is used only within the App.
It is not shared, transmitted, stored remotely, or used for tracking.
Location access can be enabled or disabled at any time in iOS Settings.
2.2 Garmin Public Share Data
The App imports tracking data from Garmin public share sites. This data may include:
- GPS coordinates
- Timestamps
- Speed, course, and related telemetry
This data:
- Is publicly available via Garmin
- Is stored locally on the device
- Can be deleted at any time by the App user
BOKUTracks does not create, modify, or redistribute this data outside of the App.
2.3 Crash Diagnostics
BOKUTracks uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports when the App unexpectedly stops working.
Crash reports may include:
- Device model and OS version
- App version
- Technical crash logs and stack traces
Crash diagnostics are used solely to improve app stability and reliability.
The App does not use Firebase Analytics and does not collect behavioral or usage event data.
2.4 Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
- User accounts or login credentials
- Payment or financial information
- Advertising identifiers
- Background location data
- Analytics or tracking events
3. How Information Is Used
Information handled by the App is used only to:
- Display Garmin tracking data
- Show the user’s location on the map (if enabled)
- Diagnose crashes and improve reliability
4. Data Sharing
BOKUTracks does not sell, rent, or share personal data.
Limited technical information is shared only with:
- Firebase Crashlytics, for crash diagnostics
User location data is never shared outside of the App.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Imported Garmin data is stored locally on the device
- All imported data can be deleted by the App user at any time
- Deleting the App removes all locally stored data
Crash diagnostics are retained by Firebase according to Firebase’s standard retention policies.
6. User Control
Users control:
- Whether location access is enabled
- What Garmin data is imported
- When imported data is deleted
7. Children’s Privacy
BOKUTracks does not knowingly collect personal information from users of any age.
The App does not require accounts and does not request personal identity information.
8. Data Security
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information handled by the App. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date.
